Postcard printing only has room for a little information, but they have the advantage of not being hidden in an envelope. Postcards have a chance of grabbing attention and even communicating a message before the recipient can throw them away, which means they are generally great marketing tools. Here are some tips for making attractive cards that communicate effectively.
1. Put a Headline at the Top
Include a great headline that grabs attention for your postcard printing campaign. Put it at the top of the postcard since most consumers usually read from top to bottom, and they will notice it right off. Use large, bold type, and keep it to 10 words or less.
2. Use Bullet Points
Use a bulleted list to describe the benefits offered by your company, and only use three or four of the best ones when postcard printing. If there is a special offer, a discount, or a freebie, put that on the front and back so the reader will see it no matter which way the mail gets turned.
3. Stick to One Point
Do not crowd the postcard with text. Keep the message simple and the sentences short when postcard printing. If the postcard is covered in lots of text, most people will not bother reading it.
4. Use Bright Colors
Use bright colors to attract attention. Yellow is the best color for attracting attention. Whatever background color you use for postcard printing, make sure the color of the text contrasts well with it. Readability is key with postcard design; you want the readers to be able to take in the message in two or three seconds.
5. Put the Web Address Front and Back
Put your web address on the front and back of the postcard. Then if the postcard gets tossed after the recipient only reads one side, they will probably at least notice and remember the web address and be able to look you up. Put the company logo on the front and back for the same reason.
6. Use Readable Fonts
Make sure the style of font you choose is easy to read. Again, you want people to be able to read it very quickly. Words like “Free Oil Change” should jump out and grab attention as they flip through the mail. Make the font sizes a bit larger than normal for ease of reading as well.
A postcard printing campaign is one marketing technique no company should forego. Postcards are easy to design, capture attention quickly, and have a high rate of return. And now armed with a strategy for design, your postcard printing project is sure to bring in the customers like never before!
